Firefly study 2006 observations

Rough count of aerial sightings in one hectare of forest area at an elevation of 714 metres, through which a swampy creek runs and includes a clearing of approximately 1100 sq.m.in area.
Rainfall figures provided are BoM standard 9am to 9am registrations.

Small numbers of fireflies have emerged at low altitude locations such as Numinbah Valley.
2. First sighting for the season
3. First large scale emergence 22-11-2006
4. 20kph to 80kph winds with the display ceasing entirely during an electrical storm around 7:30pm.
5. Storm around 5:30pm. 30kph to 90kph winds persisting at 7:30pm. Only 2 fireflies sighted.
6. Female firefly found at the forest edge in dry leaf litter.
7. Second female firefly found at the forest edge in dry leaf litter.
