the Purlingbrook Gorge to the right and the Gold Coast & ocean to the left .

particularly in the wet season when it is an inspiring sight . The falls plunge more than
100m into a gorge filled with palms ferntrees and lilies. Lookouts are located on either
side of the head of the falls, and longer walking tracks that pass under the falls and
down to the Waringa rock pool which is a favourite swimming hole frequented by
locals & tourists alike .

"cultural centre" is the throbbing heart of the community with activities
ranging from community meetings , dances and the indoor sports persuits of the more mature
locals.

original pioneer families on Springbrook) The Pioneer Monument is at this point and
registers the names of the original settlers.

rock pool at the bottom that is frequented by the locals & tourists in the warmer
weather.
11. Goomoolahra picnic area at the end of Springbrook Road leads to another
waterfall and two more breathtaking lookouts. Lookout on top of Bilborough's Falls (
a.k.a. Goomoolahra Falls ) allows a view of the waterfall cascading to the gorge below
with a backdrop of mountain ranges and the Gold Coast . You can see 70 miles out to sea at
this point.
These are but a few of the easy to get to
spots on the Mountain . The best country to see requires the use of suitable footware and
walking through the many kilometres of National Park walking tracks in order to gain a
better appreciation of our beautiful area. |
